The Clan
The Caledonian Clan is the junior team within the club, for boys and girls aged between 8-15. In order to be as fun and inclusive as possible, the rules of the junior game have been pared back from the adult’s game and siblings and friends are actively encourage to join in with sessions and games. Also, all sessions are free to take part as the club would never want cost to prohibit a child to take part in the sport of wheelchair rugby.
The club works in partnership with their governing body, GBWR, to ensure the safeguarding of children risk is prioritised at all times. The club looks to ensure that our junior members have the opportunity to take part in a safe and fun environment. This is ensured through the club’s network of Club Welfare Officers who key to ensuring that best practice is promoted, and the voices of disabled participants are heard.

Wheelchair rugby is a fast paced, full contact team sport open to both sexes, ages 8+ and to most levels of disabilities, especially those with higher levels of disabilities for whom there are very few options to take part in sport. To qualify to play competitively, player must have a disability affecting their arms and legs, although there’s no restrictions to anyone who would like to join training for the fitness benefits.
