Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby Club

Est 2011

Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby is Scotland’s only full-contact wheelchair rugby club, bringing together players of all abilities in one of the most exciting and fast-paced adaptive sports around. Based in Glasgow, the club is home to two teams:

The Caledonian Crushers – the club’s adult team, training every Tuesday from 7–9pm

The Caledonian Clan – the junior team for players aged 8+, training every Tuesday from 6–7pm

Both teams train at Tollcross Leisure Centre.

Wheelchair rugby combines speed, skill, teamwork, and full-contact action, creating an inclusive sport where players with a wide range of physical abilities can compete and thrive. Open to all genders, the club offers a welcoming environment for both new and experienced players looking to get involved, stay active, and be part of a strong team community.

Committed to inclusivity

Wheelchair rugby is a fast-paced, full-contact team sport open to all genders and players aged 8+. The sport is designed for athletes with a wide range of disabilities with hopes of creating opportunities for people who may otherwise have limited access to competitive sport.

To compete in official matches, players must have a disability affecting both their arms and legs. However, everyone is welcome to join training sessions and experience the fitness, social, and wellbeing benefits that wheelchair rugby has to offer.

At Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every player has the opportunity to develop their skills, be part of a team, and compete in matches.
